Dr Kayode Fayemi, Ekiti State Governor and the Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum, says he has tested positive for Coronavirus.

He said he would be handing over to the Deputy Governor, Otunba Adebisi Egbeyemi as he goes into isolation.

He is the eighth governor to test positive for the virus as it continues to ravage the country.

The governors are Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Dave Umahi ( Ebonyi) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia).

Others are Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta) State and Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo).

Fayemi had tweeted on Wednesday:” I took my third Covid-19 test yesterday and it came back positive. I’m generally ok and I’m already self-isolating at home and receiving the best of care from my medical team. I’m delegating critical tasks to my deputy but will continue routine duty from home.”
