Croatia beat lackluster Nigeria 2-0 in world cup opener

154

Nigeria started the world cup 2018 campaign in Russia with a miserable  2-0 loss to a defiant Croatian team led by Luka Modric.

Defeat for Nigeria came after a poor run in 2-week preparation period in which they failed to win in 2 consecutive friendly games, conceding 3 goals in their last two matches.

The Nigerian team didn’t seem to have any intensity whatsoever in what fans around the world say is very strange.

The first goal was an own goal by Etebo from a shot from Mario Mandžukić, while the second was a  penalty scored by Luka Modric.
