Nigeria’s Ese Brume missed out on a podium placement in the women’s long jump event, finishing 5th in the final with a mark of 6.70m.

Persecondnews reports that Brume fell short of the 6.95m mark in her last two attempts to enter the medal contention.

The African record holder inspired a Nigerian 1-2-3 participation in the final, the first time Nigeria will field three athletes in the final of an individual event at the Olympics.
